OCHS alumnus, Dr Ravi Gupta has been awarded tenure at William and Mary College, one of the US's oldest and most prestigious universities.

Ravi completed his D.Phil. at Oxford in 2004 at the tender age of 22. He went on to teach at University of Florida shortly after and then to William and Mary College in 2008.

At William and Mary, Ravi was described as a "teacher's teacher" by his colleagues and was awarded two teaching awards in his first two years. Based on his work the Tenure Committee approved his promotion unanimously saying that the enthusiasm of student feedback to his courses was 'almost unheard of' and that he 'exceeds the standard for tenure'.

Meanwhile, Ravi continues to serve many useful roles at the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies. He is a role model of what is possible, he supports  students by funding a bursary, he is on the editorial committee of the OCHS-OUP Jounal of Hindu Studies, and he is a driving force behind the upcoming Bhagavata-Purana research project.

The staff and students of the OCHS are very proud of Ravi's achievement.
