Campaign: A new home for the OCHS
It’s absolutely fantastic to have a Centre like this in the UK. It is important to permanently establish this as a legacy for future generations.

Since its foundation, the OCHS has developed strong momentum. Teaching continues to expand, leading to international conferences; publishing is expanding through our Journal and book series; the library has grown from a handful of donated personal collections to 20,000 titles; the staff has more than doubled; the student body has grown twentyfold; and with the lease ready to expire it’s time to move forward.
Over the next fifteen years the OCHS aims to build on the firm foundations established in the first fifteen years. This includes a tripling of teaching and a doubling of library titles. This rapid growth in provision brings with it a corresponding growth in students attracted to the developing field of Hindu Studies.
There is a need for a new home for Hindu Studies in Oxford, and now is the time.
To this end we are launching a New Home for the OCHS Campaign, seeking to raise £1,000,000 to make this a reality. We already have £500,000 pledged.
